This Tuesday, Nov. 4 is General Election Day in Clark County.
Ballots can be submitted to a drop box or directly to the elections office by 8 p.m. There are 22 red ballot drop boxes across Clark County, including one by the Orange 1 Parking Lot at WSU Vancouver.
On the ballot statewide is a constitutional amendment that would allow the state’s long-term care fund to be invested. The specific local measures and offices that appear on your ballot is determined by precinct.
For Vancouver residents, included on the ballot is Proposition No. 5, which would increase the city’s property taxes in order to fund up to an additional 13 police officers at the Vancouver Police Department.
Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by the day of, but the Washington Secretary of State has recommended against mailing ballots this late in the election, citing concerns with U.S. Postal Service delays.
