The WSUV Cougar Pantry is offering free Thanksgiving Meal Kits, with multiple options of common thanksgiving foods. Applications for these will be available until November 14.
Options in these kits include typical thanksgiving foods such as turkey, stuffing, tofu for a gluten free and vegan option, as well as pie, among others.
Any WSU-V or Clark College nursing student is eligible, as long as they’ve paid the Service and Activities fees typically included in tuition.
The Thanksgiving Meal Kits will be distributed to students during the Thanksgiving Fresh Food event on Tuesday, November 25 at the Firstenburg Student Commons Kitchen, from 12 to 4 p.m.
Directions will be sent in a confirmation email to anyone who fills out an application. Students will need their Cougar cards to check in. If you don’t have a Cougar Card, one can be ordered on the Cougar Center and Cashier page, at the bottom of the page.
According to Cougar Pantry employee Esmeralda De Jesus Castaneda, the Cougar Pantry is supported by funds from the pantry itself. Meanwhile, the quantity of food offered is gauged based on data of students who sign up. The Cougar Pantry still tends to purchase a little more than needed just to be safe.
The Cougar Pantry can be found in the Library Building, at Room 240.
